About Our Village
The Village Charter School, founded in 1999, is a tuition-free public charter school serving children in Sonoma County. Our emphasis is on developing a small, friendly, multicultural, multi-age learning environment. Currently we serve 60 students in our Village, with three classrooms of children in grades K-6.
The Village Charter School is designed for families who want to take an active role in the education of their children. Parent support is needed in the classroom and in many other capacities, including governing the school, organizing fundraisers and festivals, keeping our school and gardens beautiful and much more. The result is a strong feeling of community among children, parents, teachers and staff.
The Village Charter School is delighted to be part of the Windsor Unified School District. In May, 2007, the Windsor Board of Trustees approved our charter and welcomed us into their community. We look forward to maintaining a strong partnership with our authorizing school district.
